چکیده

The objective of this paper is to describe an autoregressive regression framework with respect to metered sewer flow and simultaneous rainfall data series. The main purpose is to produce more reliable estimates for rain derived inflow and infiltration RDII characteristics in a sanitary sewer basin. The discussion is centered at three specific points: 1 a justification for an autoregressive error structure; 2 a modeling setup to capture the RDII characteristics for rain events of varying duration and intensity; and 3 a statistical quantification of RDII reduction, by a sewer rehabilitation project, via tests based on two independent data series. The Investigation of the Estimation Precision of Infiltration Equation Parameters Based on Soil Physics Characteristics for Furrow Irrigation

Furrow irrigation is the most common method of surface irrigation. However, the accurate estimation of the soil water infiltration equation is the most important challenge for evaluating this method of irrigation. In this study, a fast and simple method that is named soil intake families and presented by USDA-NRCS (RSIF), evaluated for estimation of the Kostiakove-lewis infiltration equation pa...

Comparison of One-point and Two-point Methods for Estimation of Infiltration Parameters in Furrow Irrigation

Infiltration is one of the most important hydraulic parameters affecting surface irrigation and one ofthe most difficult parameters in practical field determinations. The infiltration equations are used todescribe water flow hydraulics and surface irrigation systems design. But determination of theparameters in these equations are costly and time consuming. Therefore, some estimating methods ar...

Nonlinear Extrapolation of Inflow and Infiltration Behavior under Heavy Storms

A two-sample nonlinear heteroscedastic regression model is described and proposed for the purpose of evaluating a sewer basin rehabilitation by quantifying the reduction in rain-derived inflow and infiltration RDII . The proposed methodology is used at the second stage of RDII studies after RDII volumes of individual rain events are estimated. The proposed methodology utilizes boundary conditio...

A simplified approach for the design of infiltration trenches.

The use of infiltration trenches has proven to be useful to reduce runoff in urban surfaces. The design of these structures is based on the continuity equation taking into account inflow, outflow and detention water volumes. Basic procedures evaluate entering flow rates and relative volumes directly as a function of rain event characteristics, without taking into account rain-runoff processes o...

Infiltration and Inflow Can Be Costly for Communities

What is infiltration? The term infiltration is used by wastew a t e r professionals to describe the excess water that sometimes seeps, trickles, or flows into old or damaged collection systems from the surrounding soil. For example, high groundwater or water remaining in the soil after rain or snow often can infiltrate mainline pipes, joints, service late r a l s, connections, and other p a r t...
